Week 3 - Question 3

This week in the news I found an interesting story regarding the treatment of an United Airlines passenger. The man was forcibly removed and injured an elderly man because they overbooked a flight and wanted to use this mans seat for employees, however he would not leave. What I found interesting about this story is that police officers actually forcibly removed the man because the airline asked him to, they had no right to do this and should have not have blindly followed the instructions on the airline employ. I am extremely interested in seeing how the legal battle of this incident will play out

I interviewed and learned about his summer job working with under privileged youth at a summer camp in Belleville. I always knew this is what he did over the summer but never really got to hear many stories about what actually happened at work since we live so far and people our age often don't really talk about our part time jobs. It was a brief discussion as he was busy studying for an exam but I did manage to persuade him into talking about something that he enjoys. Which is working with children. What I found most interesting about or discussion was the treatment many of these children face at home, for example one kids parents on numerous occasions did not in time to pick up their child so my roommate would walk her home in order to make sure she was okay. This is not something he was responsible for but he took it upon him self to make sure the girl was always safe.
